His Excellency Shaykh Dr. Ahmed al-Tayyib, the Grand Mufti of Egypt (now Rector of al-Azhar University) visited the offices of the Thesaurus Islamicus Foundation in Cairo on Sunday 2nd February 2003. The visit allowed him to acquaint himself with the various departments of the Cairo office and with the Sunna project specifically. During the visit His Excellency the Mufti met with Mr. Faarid Gouverneur, Chairman of the Foundation and Shaykh Dr. Ali Jum'a, Professor of Islamic Jurisprudence at Azhar University, and Board Member of the Foundation (inactive member as of 28/9/2003, now Grand Mufti of Egypt) , to discuss possibilities of cooperation between Dar al-Ifta' al-Misria and the Thesaurus Islamicus Foundation with regard to the Hadith Encyclopedia and the IHSAN Network.
